Intervention may be tailored to address the individual needs of the client and anticipated legal/insurance matters/resolution.
Examples include:
Comprehensive Life Care Planning
Ideal for complex and/or catastrophic injuries with anticipated trial proceedings. This approach typically involves:
- Review, summary, and analysis of the documentation to establish the foundation of the life care plan
- In-person interview and functional testing conducted in the evaluee’s home
- Collateral interview, when possible, with a significant other (e.g., spouse, family member, friend)
- Collaborating with other professionals involved in the treatment and/or assessment of the evaluee to receive their scope-specific insights and identified needs
- Analysis of primary and secondary data, identification of needs, and market research of suitable options and associated costs
- Detailed report with one or more sets of costing tables (e.g., Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, Market Rates)
Targeted Life Care Planning
An ideal solution when seeking early settlement, particularly when there are critical needs outside of occupational therapy and trial is not expected. This typically involves:
- Review and summary of relevant documentation
- Occupational therapy assessment conducted at the evaluee’s home
- Targeted collaboration with select professionals
- Analysis of primary and defined secondary data, needs determination, and market research of options and costs
- Report detailing the assessment findings, identified needs, recommendations, outcomes of the collaborations, with related costing tables
Occupational Therapy Functional Assessment
Designed to identify needs and recommendations within the scope of occupational therapy. This typically involves:
- Review and brief summary of relevant documentation
- Occupational therapy assessment at the client’s home and/or workplace
- A detailed report outlining the occupational therapy assessment findings, needs, and recommendations such as attendant care, housekeeping and home maintenance support, caregiving, equipment, accommodations, and occupational therapy intervention, with associated costs
